Today I've been finishing the piecing of this new version of my Empty Rings pattern I've written for @themqg .

I wanted something for my couch and this Ruby and Bee solids bundle I curated for @dasmachichnachts was just perfect!

Not to mention this mix of FPP and curved piecing is so much fun....

It's finally here!. The third piece of my contribution to @themqg is now available!

Empty Rings is a design inspired by the "Unfinished Boxes" by my beloved Basque artist Jorge Oteiza and uses Foundation Paper Piecing and Double Drunkard’s Path techniques to create the rings and the seamlessly integrated negative space.

This month @themqg has uploaded to their resources library this block pattern I've design to complement my workshop on Negative Space.

Hollow X is is a journey that invites quilters of all skill levels to explore the art of design and negative space manipulation. Arrange and rearrange the various blocks and background squares, manipulating the negative space and playing with rotations to achieve many different design options.

Here you can see the pillow I made using the blocks. Swipe left to check the different layouts you can achieve just by rotating, positioning the blocks.

Every time I was writing a pattern I had to google all those tedious calculations, like the nr of binding strips, or how many square can I cut from a piece of fabric.
